Dahlgren wins TCR Scandinavia first race at Falkenberg
14 July 2019
Robert Dahlgren won Race 1 of the TCR Scandinavia meeting at Falkenberg, with Tobias Brink in second place and his own teammate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky completing the podium.
Pole-sitter Dahlgren just pipped Brink into Turn 1, with the pair making slight contact and Dahlgren emerging from the encounter in the lead. Åhlin-Kottulinsky was right behind the pair and spent the race waiting in vain for an error from one or both of the leading duo.
Behind the battle for the podium positions, Mattias Andersson spent much of the race defending from a series of determined challenges by Andreas Wernersson after the latter had passed Andreas Ahlberg for fifth position on Lap 2. It wasn’t to be, however, and Andersson finished fourth with Wernersson fifth and Ahlberg sixth after battling with his teammate Tomas Engström, who finished seventh.
The result means Dahlgren has extended his lead over Wernersson in the Drivers’ standings to 26 points, with Brink having moved ahead of Ahlberg into third position.
Race 2 at Falkenberg is at 15.20 CET with Wernersson and Ahlberg filling the front row of the top-eight reverse grid; live streaming at www.tcr-series.com and www.tcr-series.tv.
