Honda drivers are ready for team tactics in WTCR

05 September 2020

Münnich Motorsport’s Honda squad expects a strong team-work this year in the fight for the WTCR title.
2019 runner-up Esteban Guerrieri hopes the four-car line-up will be able to use the same tactis which was used be Hyundai. “It’s been a long waiting to go back to real race and I look forward to compete again, coming back into real world is exciting and I’m hungry as I was last year. We have seen how Hyundai worked last year: Farfus was giving up positions to let Norbi take more points and everybody worked in the same directions. I’m not saying that we were not working together last year, but we were in two different teams so we could have done better if we were in a situation like we are now. So hopefully we can do the same thing what Hyundai did, because being together under one structure we can plan in the best way it’s possible. I think there is more potential for us to put all the energy together for one main goal.”
Néstor Girolami agreed with his teammate: “Now we have four cars to fight for the championship and I think it will be decided soon that who supports who: three cars for one, or two cars for two, etc. We have to prepare for everything.”
Tiago Monteiro is also ready for the common work with his teammates: “It’s gonna be a very special season, a short and quick one and you need to be strong and focused. We have to get use this new reality and we have to use what we have. My comeback last year was very good and this year working together with the other three in the same team means that we gonna be stronger. We can share much more information, we can work together, we push each other meanwhile we will fight against each other.”
Hungarian young driver, Attila Tassi would like to learn from his teammates: “We had some very good moments last year, we had a perfect test during the off season. My aim is to improve as much as I can and it’s great that we are all four together this season and we will be strong. I’m very happy with this situation and I’m looking forward to get some good points this year.”
