Kristoffersson is back on top of the standings

At Mantorp Park, Johan Kristoffersson completed a great recovery from seventh on the grid to take his third consecutive win and jumped back on top of the standings, three points clear of the reigning champion Robert Dahlgren.
The fight for the TCR Scandinavia crown will be decided in today’s second race, that starts at 15:20 CET (live streaming at www.tcr-series.tv).
At the start, the Lestrup Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI of Andreas Wernersson took the lead from the pole ahead of Dahlgren’s PWR Racing Cupra. The latter was followed by Fredrik Ekblom (WestCoast Racing VW), Dahlgren’s teammate Daniel Haglöf, Mattias Andersson’s Honda Civic and Kristoffersson in the KMS VW, while Kristoffersson’s teammate Hugo Nerman, second on the grid, spun off during the opening lap.
Kristoffersson began to climb on lap 2, overtaking Andersson for fifth and Dahlgren stole the lead from Wernersson on lap 5.
Kristoffersson’s progression saw him passing Haglöf for fourth on lap 5, Ekblom for third on lap 6 and Wernersson for second on lap 8; on the same lap Haglöf overtook Ekblom for fourth.
Dahlgren tried to defend his leadership, but he was closely followed by the quartet of Kristoffersson, Wernersson, Haglöf and Ekblom; on lap 9 the first two made contact, Kristoffersson moved ahead and pulled away.
Two laps later Ekblom punted Dahlgren and sent him wide, which enabled Wernersson and Ekblom to finish second and third behind Kristoffersson and ahead of Dahlgren and Haglöf. However, after the race, Ekblom was given a 2.4 seconds penalty for the incident that dropped him to fourth.
