Mathilda Racing faces strong opposition in the VLN

11 April 2019

The second round of the VLN endurance series takes place Saturday at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where Mathilda Racing will try to encore its victory in the season opener.
In the 4-hour race, the team will run its CUPRA with an unchanged line-up of drivers: Heiko Hammel, Matthias Wasel and Frédéric Yerly.
Only seven cars have entered in the TCR class, but the level is high and includes two WTCR drivers: Tiago Monteiro, who will share a Honda Civic with Dominik Fugel and Markus Oestreich, and Benjamin Leuchter in a Max Kruse Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI together with Andreas Gülden.
TCR Germany reigning champion Harald Proczyk will team up with Peter Terting in a Hyundai i30 N run by Target Competition on behalf of Hyundai Customer Racing; the same team will also field a Veloster N for Nico Verdonck and Moritz Oestreich.
Two other CUPRA cars complete the field with Sandro Rothenberger-Karl Brinker and Benedikt Gentgen-Lukas Thiele.
