TCR International Series title contender Gianni Morbidelli will make an off-road digression this upcoming weekend at Franciacorta, where he will take part in the Italian round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.
Morbidelli will be at the wheel of an All-Inkl.com Racing Audi S3, teaming up with René Münnich, the team principal and Gianni’s fellow TCR colleague at WestCoast Racing.
“Honestly I was a bit reluctant to accept René’s invitation, but after I tested the car at Maggiora on Monday I changed my mind. The Audi S3 is a powerful machine, with 600 bhp and the four-wheel drive; it’s a lot of fun to drive. And my performance during the test was better than expected. I have no special aims for the WRX event, other than having fun. I wish to thank René for offering me this opportunity to discover a new category and race against its best drivers,” said Morbidelli.
