Robert Dahlgren leads PWR Racing 1-2 in second Skellefteå race

Robert Dahlgren put on another dominant display to win his fourth win from five races in this year’s TCR Scandinavia championship at Skellefteå, leading his teammate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky to a PWR Racing 1-2.
At the start, Åhlin-Kottulinsky had a great launch from third on the grid and skipped past Mattias Andersson’s MA:GP Lynk & Co 03, and the top three quickly began to pull away from the field.
Up to fourth was Hannes Morin in his Brink Motorsport Audi, who’d made the most of a bad start from Mikael Karlsson’s Lestrup Racing Team Volkswagen ahead of him.
Oliver Söderström had made a bad start in his Lestrup Racing Team Volkswagen and had been passed by Tobias Brink’s Audi for seventh on the first lap, but he soon set about working his way back to the front, re-passing Brink on lap two.
On the third lap, Söderström overtook Andreas Ahlberg’s Kågered Racing Volkswagen for sixth, trying to go around the outside at the Turn 10 hairpin, while ultimately failing he was able to get a good enough run to complete the move up the inside into the next left-hander at Turn 11, while Brink also passed Ahlberg at Turn 1 on the next lap.
Söderström dispatched Karlsson’s Volkswagen at Turn 14 on lap five, and was then up to fifth, and then became involved in a battle to the end with Morin’s Audi, which amplified in the final laps as they closed up to Andersson’s Lynk & Co.
Söderström snatched fourth with a move at Turn 14 on the final lap from Morin, while behind them Brink pinched sixth from Karlsson at the line.
Up front, the PWR Racing CUPRAs controlled the race, with Dahlgren winning the race nearly two seconds clear of Åhlin-Kottulinsky.
Dahlgren’s lead in the standings is now 31 points over Andersson, while Åhlin-Kottulinsky moved up to third in the classification, just eight points behind him.
The final race of the day is scheduled for 20:55 CEST, with Ahlberg starting from the reversed grid pole position.
