Robert Dahlgren scores his eighth consecutive pole at Anderstorp

Robert Dahlgren has made it eight poles from eight qualifying sessions in the 2021 TCR Scandinavia championship, topping both sessions at Anderstorp’s Scandinavian Raceway and further cementing his dominance of the series so far.
Dahlgren was able to pull out a final lap flyer in a heavily disrupted Q1, which was mostly held behind the safety car after an early problem for the Lestrup Racing Team Volkswagen of Mikael Karlsson.
Dahlgren’s team-mate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky had been on provisional pole by just three-thousandths of a second ahead of the Oliver Söderström, but just as the chequered flag came out Dahlgren found nearly four more tenths to score his seventh pole of the year.
The top eight progressed into Q2, where Dahlgren’s first flying lap was faster still, setting a time of 1:37.424 ahead of Söderström and just over half a second clear of team-mate Åhlin-Kottulinsky.
Hugo Nerman then made a surprise improvement to split Dahlgren and Söderström, with the latter unable to respond as he was still in the pit lane with no time to head out and complete another lap.
Dahlgren, Åhlin-Kottulinsky and Tobias Brink managed to get out for one final run, and Dahlgren found another two-tenths of a second to set a 1:37.224 to ensure his pole position, completing a perfect run in this season’s Qualifying sessions. 
Just after the chequered flag, Brink improved to second, meaning Dahlgren’s closest championship rival will start alongside him for the second race.
