Sunny Wong and Alex Hui dominate Wuhan’s long race

05 October 2018

Sunny Wong and Alex Hui confirmed their supremacy in TCR China’s long races as they took a dominant victory in the series’ 12th round at Wuhan; their fourth win out of the four long races held so far.
At the beginning of the race, Henry Ho took the lead in the MacPro Racing Honda Civic, followed by Wong’s TeamWork Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI and Filipe De Souza’s TA Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS.
After a few lap, Ho dropped down the order and then began to recover until he reached the second place just before the pit stop window with a gap of 30 seconds from Wong.
Hui replaced Wong and kept the lead with a comfortable margin, while De Souza’s co-driver Ryan Wong began to close in on Eurico De Jesus who had taken over the Honda from Henry Ho.
With ten minutes left of the one-hour race, Ryan Wong overtook De Jesus for second and crossed the finishing line 45 seconds behind Hui’s winning car.
The results meant that the TeamWork Motorsport duo of Sunny Wong-Alex Hui reduced their gap in the standings to 14 points behind the MacPro Racing Honda of Henry Ho and De Jesus.
The next and final event of TCR China will be at Shanghai Tianma Circuit on 27/28 October.
