TCR Challengers’ Trophy and prize money at stake for play-off racers

The 45 drivers who have qualified through the 2023 KUMHO TCR World Ranking for the play-off phase of the first ever TCR World Ranking Final event will compete for the TCR Challengers’ Trophy and for a prize money of the value of 500,000 € in tyres for the 2024 season.

These drivers will be split by a draw into three groups and will take part in the Play-off Races of 20 minutes + 1 lap. 

After the three Play-off Races, the top 15 drivers will progress to the Final according to the following points scale:

Qualifying points: 1^st 3 pts; 2^nd 2 pts; 3^rd 1 pt.

Race points: 1^st 25 pts; 2^nd 21 pts; 3^rd 18 pts; 4^th 15 pts; 5^th 13 pts; 6^th 11 pts; 7^th 9 pts; 8^th 8 pts; 9^th 7 pts; 10^th 6 pts; 11^th 5 pts; 12^th 4 pts; 13^th 3 pts; 14^th 2 pts; 15^th 1 pt. 

Fastest lap: 1 pt.

In case of dead heat, the following criteria will be used to determine the order: best race result, best qualifying result and fastest lap.

The three drivers who scores the highest amounts of points will be awarded with the TCR Challengers’ Trophies, while the value of 500,000 € in tyres will be equally split among the 15 drivers who qualified for the Final. 

The 30 drivers eliminated at the end of the play-off phase will be given another chance to qualify for the Final through the Repechage Race of 15 minutes + 1 lap. The first four drivers classified in the Race will be admitted to the Final Race.

The 2024 TCR World Ranking Final will take place in Portugal at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão on March 1/3, 2024.
