TCR China's second season kicks of at Zhuhai

The second season of TCR China kicks off this weekend at the Zhuhai International Circuit with the NewFaster Team defending both the Drivers' and Teams' titles won in 2017, when Andy Yan and Huang Chu Han finished as champion and runner-up respectively.
The team will run again two Audi RS3 LMS cars for a new pair of drivers: Wang Hao (fifth in last year’s championship) and the 18-year old Touring Car rookie Carson Tang.
The strongest competition is expected from TeamWork Motorsport's Volkswagen Golf GTI driven by Sunny Wong and Alex Hui who were classified fourth and third in 2017. Among the new entries to the series there are three Honda Civic FK2 cars run by Hong Kong-based TCR Racing; one of them is entrusted to Pat Wong the 2017 champion of the Pan-Delta Zhuhai Series.
The entry list for the opening event includes 13 cars: five Volkswagen Golf GTIs, five Honda Civics, two Audi RS3 LMSs and one Kia c’eed run by the D Garage team.
TCR China will be run on six events, returning to Zhuhai (7/8 July) and then visiting Chengdu (21/22 July), Ningbo (29/30 September), Wuhan (7/8 October) and Shanghai Jiading (24/25 November).
The format remains the same as last year’s, with two 40-km sprint races and one 60-minute long race at each event in which the drivers may choose if sharing the car or not; in the latter case the points scored will be increased by 20%.
A success ballast system has also been introduced, imposing 60, 40 and 20 kilos to the first three drivers classified in the previous event.

The three races of the events will be streamed live at www.tcr-series.com and www.tcr-series.tv: Race 1, Saturday at 16:30 local time (10:30 CET); Race 2, Sunday at 11:00 local time (05:00 CET); Race 3 at 15:05 local time (09:05 CET).
