The TCR Japan’s finale takes place at Fuji

18 December 2020

The TCR Japan championship's season finale takes place this weekend at the Fuji Speedway.
After clinching the title in the Saturday Series two weeks ago at Suzuka, Takuro Shinohara (Team Hitotsuyama, Audi RS 3 LMS) is also willing to be crowned champion of the Sunday Series. Shinohara, who has won seven of the ten races held so far, has a one-point lead in the Sunday Series over the reigning champion Takeshi Matsumoto (Team Wakayama, Volkswagen Golf GTI), while 'Hirobon' (Birth Racing Project, CUPRA), third in the standings with a gap of 33 points, has dropped out of the title fight.
'Hirobon' has already clinched the Bronze Class trophy in the Sunday Series, while in the Saturday Series the class is led by Rio Shimono (Drago Racing, Honda Civic Type R). The lady driver, who has claimed her first overall victory at Suzuka, has built an advantage of 17 points over 'Hirobon' when 30 are still on offer.
Live streaming of both races will be at www.tcr-series.com, Saturday at 12:45 local time (04:45 CET) and Sunday at 09:05 local time (01:05 CET).
