Victory for Antti Buri in Oschersleben’s second race

28 April 2019

Antti Buri, in the LMS Racing Audi RS 3 LMS, took victory in the ADAC TCR Germany’s Race 2 at Oschersleben.
The Finn took no prisoners and built his success from the start. He beat yesterday’s winner Mike Halder, who is still leading the championship standings, and reigning champion Harald Proczyk.
It was a perfect start from Buri, who passed the two cars on the front row, Guido Naumann’s and Michelle Halder’s, to take the lead straight away.
Théo Coicaud climbed quickly to third ahead of Mike Halder, Bradley Burns, Max Hesse and Proczyk.
After a couple of laps though, the safety-car was deployed to allow retrieving the Golf GTI of Maurits Sandberg that was stuck in the gravel. After the restart, Coicaud took second but he was under the threat of Halder who was followed by Hesse and Proczyk.
In lap 10, Halder managed to overtake Coicaud for second, with a perfect move, and started chasing Buri.
Another nice overtaking manoeuvre was completed by Burns on lap 12, as he stole 7th from Mitchell Cheah.
One lap later Proczyk overtook Hesse for fourth and then he began fighting with Coicaud for the third position. Eventually the reigning champion managed to take third, while Coicaud dropped to sixth behind Hesse and Burns.
However, after the race Proczyk was given a ten-second penalty for clashing with Coicaud and this dropped him from third to sixth.
The TCR Germany will resume for round 3 and 4 at Most on 17/19 May.
