WSC to launch a tender for a common TCR ECU

WSC Ltd, the body behind the TCR concept, has announced that it will introduce a standard and common TCR Electronic Control Unit (ECU) with the aim of helping the WSC Technical department to check the performance of the engines of TCR cars and compliance with the TCR Technical Regulations in each TCR Series, Championships, Cups and Classes.
A tender for appointing the exclusive supplier of the TCR ECU has been launched on 21 August 2018; the Tender submission date will expire on 17 September 2018 at 18:00 (CET) and the notification of the decision as to the selection of Tenderer will be on 30 September 2018.
The task of the selected Tenderer will be to develop, produce and deliver the common TCR ECU together with its Data Logging System in a quantity sufficient to equip all the TCR cars competing in all the TCR Series, Championships, Cups and Classes for the racing seasons from 2020 until 2023.
The TCR ECU will be offered as an option in 2019 and its use will become mandatory on all TCR cars from 1st January 2020.
