A field of 18 cars for TCR Australia’s season opener

22 January 2021

TCR Australia resumes with an 18-car field, following a one-year break imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
After the cancellation of the whole 2020 season, the 2021 championship kicks off in Tasmania at Symmons Plains Raceway during the Australia Day holiday that remembers the arrival of the first fleet of British ships to the continent on 26 January 1788.
For this reason, the event begins on Sunday with two 30-minute Free Practice sessions, continues on Monday with the Qualifying and the first race, while Races 2 and 3 are held on Tuesday.
The championship will be run on six events, with the last one taking place at Sandown International Raceway on September 10/12, each one featuring three races.
About twenty cars are expected to take part in the full season, representing seven brands of car manufacturers: Alfa Romeo, Audi, Honda, Hyundai, Peugeot, Renault and Volkswagen.
The three races will be streamed live at www.tcr-series.com; Race 1, Saturday at 16:55 local time (06:55 CET), Races 2 and 3, Sunday at 11:10 and 15:25 local time respectively (01:10 and 05:25 CET).
