Baldan inherits pole position as Tavano gets penalty

Pit Lane Competizioni’s Nicola Baldan will start this afternoon’s Race 1 of TCR Italy at Mugello from the pole position.
The reigning champion had set the second fastest lap in Qualifying behind Salvatore Tavano’s Cupra, but the latter was given a drop of two positions on the grid for having stopped on the track before the end of the session, causing a full course yellow.
Tavano’s penalty promoted Eric Scalvini to the front row as well, making a Hyundai 1-2 at the start.
