Bathurst’s Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit is the first venue that was confirmed for the calendar of the maiden TCR World Tour season next year.
Within the Bathurst International race meeting that will take place on 10/12 November 2023, TCR World Tour competitors will race alongside their TCR Australia colleagues.
Marcello Lotti, President of WSC said: “When planning the TCR World Tour, it was a natural decision for us to involve TCR Australia and the Bathurst International as part of it. Mount Panorama is regarded as one of the best circuits in the world and all international drivers want to race here. Having TCR World Tour come to Bathurst will make many of the world’s best TCR drivers’ dreams come true. And the fans will be seeing a truly international field racing against TCR Australia regulars.”
Liam Curkpatrick, Chief Operating Officer, Australian Racing Group added: “This is an unbelievable endorsement for TCR Australia, having the new TCR World Tour as part of next year’s season. We have not seen an international field of touring cars compete at Mount Panorama in 25 years, so it will really put Bathurst back on the map. There is no better place to host the TCR World Tour.”
WSC Group and ARG are also in negotiations to add a second Australian round in the calendar of the 2023 TCR World Tour.
