BBR returns to victory in the 24H Series at Hockenheim

BBR returned to winning ways in the 24H Series after a commanding performance in the TCR class at the 12H Hockenheimring. 

The BBR CUPRA Leon Competición #159, driven by the Thai quartet of Chariya Nuya, Kantadhee Kusiri, Kantasak Kusiri and Munkong Sathienthirakul took restart of the Sunday’s leg at the front, having pulled one lap clear of its nearest competitors during the race’s part one on Saturday. A flawless run allowed the team to secure its third win of the season and reinforce its place at the top of the TCR Teams’ European standings.

Nuya took the CUPRA to the chequered flag, completing 350 laps of the German circuit in the process; so impressive was its run, that BBR made the top-ten overall.

Following its first series win last time out at Spa-Francorchamps, Holmgaard Motorsport’s Magnus Holmgaard, Jonas Holmgaard, Roy Edland and Martin Vedel Mortensen completed their maiden run with the team’s brand-new CUPRA Leon Competición to finish second. Two successive podiums mean Holmgaard Motorsport is now just six points behind BBR in the TCR European standings. 

The Lestrup Racing Team made an impressive return to the 24H Series at Hockenheim, collecting third and fourth in with the new Audi RS 3 LMS shared by Emil Sällberg, Marcus Fluch, Oliver Söderström and Andreas Bäckman, and the Volkswagen Golf GTI of Mats Olsson, Peter Fahlström, Stefan Nilsson and Christian Axelsson respectively. 

The next round of the 24H Series will be the 24H Portimão on 8/10 July.
