Driver quotes after Monza Free Practice 2

Driver quotes after Monza Free Practice 2

12 May 2017

Roberto Colciago (1st): “Compared to my Free Practice in Spa, this is very good news. The car is now really good and I can drive really well. Maybe I was on newer tyres compared to the others, but I also felt good on old tyres and I have a good pace. It’s the home track for a lot of drivers this weekend but I lived 12km from here so I’ve been to this place many times…”

Dušan Borković (2nd): “After Spa, this is already a much better weekend for us. I’m expecting a similar pace to Bahrain but you never know who is using what tyres in Free Practice. I don’t know the circuit very well, but I think I did a good lap and maybe I can do a little better tomorrow. I prefer to have P9 or P10 rather than be at the front because I think I can manage the second race better. I also think Davit will be strong tomorrow once he is on better tyres.”

Hugo Valente (3rd): “It’s my first time here and I’m quite happy with the pace in the second session. I had better tyres, because I missed Qualifying and one race in Spa, so I’m happy to see myself in the top three. We were trying to play with towing and my teammates were on older tyres so I had to do my lap by myself. We’ll see how it goes once everyone is on the same tyres; we know that our cars should be better than in Spa, but let’s wait and see tomorrow.”

Frederic Vervisch (5th): “It’s not been so easy. FP1 was a little difficult but now it seems okay. It’s just tough to find the time to put everything together; I mean if you have a tow, it also helps a lot. It seems that the SEAT cars are really quick but let’s see tomorrow. It should be good for us as we have a good top speed as we saw in Spa, but we are a bit further off than we thought if I’m being honest.”

Mat’o Homola (6th): “We don’t really know what happened but we still have some kind of problem with the mounting of the front bumper and the splitter. For the two Free Practice sessions, I had a lot of vibration on the long straights. I’m sure the guys will repair it for the Qualifying tomorrow, but it wasn’t easy to drive with that on the long straights here in Monza. I’ve had bad luck since the start of the season, so I think it’s time my luck changed.”
