Enrico Bettera sets pole position at Monza

Enrico Bettera opened hostilities for the 2019 season of TCR Italy, setting pole position for tomorrow’s Race 1 at Monza. The Pit Lane Competition driver and his Audi RS 3 LMS dominated throughout the 25-minute session posting a provisional fastest lap of 2:01.472 that was subsequently improved to 2:01.115 and eventually 1:59.859.
Qualifying was disrupted by the red flag after six minutes when Joacopo Guidetti spun his BF Racing Audi. When action resumed, the other drivers tried to get closer to Bettera, but nobody else was able to complete a lap in less than two minutes.
Eventually Matteo Greco qualified second in the Scuderia Girasole CUPRA (2:00.595), followed by guest Russian driver Klim Gavrilov in the LTA Rally Audi (2:00.842) and Massimiliano Mugelli in the PRS Racing Alfa Romeo Giulietta (2:00.858).
Greco’s teammate and reigning champion Salvatore Tavano ranked fifth (2:00.905) ahead of the young rookie Guidetti (2:01.184) and the Target Competition Hyundai i30 N of Marco Pellegrini (2:01.228).

In the TCR DSG Endurance, Dindo Capello won the Qualifying Race in his Audi RS 3 LMS. The former winner of the Le Mans 24 hours will share the car with Nicola Guida in the 2-hour race that will start at 14:20 local time; this too will be streamed live at www.tcr-series.tv.
