Fog forces to cancel TCR Europe’s Qualifying at the Nürburgring

This morning thick fog upon the Nürburgring forced the cancellation of TCR Europe’s Qualifying session that was scheduled to start at 8:45 local time CEST.

The Stewards decided to form the grid according to the combined results of yesterday’s Free Practice sessions, with the grid for Race 2 determined by reversing the first ten positions.

The decision means Tom Coronel will be on pole for Race 1 with Nicola Baldan alongside him on the front row of the grid. Josh Files will start tomorrow’s Race 2 from pole position with Mat’o Homola sharing the front row. The current leader of the Drivers’ championship, Franco Girolami, will start Race 1 from P4 and Race 2 from P7.  

No Qualifying points will be awarded.

Race 1 is scheduled to start at 17:00 local time (CEST) and will be streamed live on TCR TV.
