Hungaroring hosts the WTCR second event

26 April 2018

Three weeks after the season opening at Marrakech, the WTCR resumes this weekend at the Hungaroring for the second event of its inaugural year.
The circuit in the outskirts of Budapest, with its elevation changes is one of the favourite locations for Touring Cars that always deliver thrilling races to the delight of the spectators. And the local fans never miss the occasion to flock to the track and cheer for their favourite drivers. They have a wide choice, as no fewer than five Hungarians will be on the grid.
Norbert Michelisz is the local fans’ pet; the runner up in last year World Champion has already won twice at the Hungaroring (2012 and 2015) and must be regarded as one of the top seeds for this week’s race at the wheel of his Hyundai i30 N TCR. Norbert Nagy and Dávid Zsolt Szabó are still in the learning phase, but they will do their best in the two Cupra TCR cars run by Zengő Motorsport. The Hungarian patrol is completed by two young guest drivers with ambition: Dániel Nagy in a M1RA Hyundai i30 N TCR and Attila Tassi – the winner of last year’s TCR International Series races at the Hungaroring – in a Honda Civic Type R TCR run by Hell Energy Racing Team with KCMG. They will both use the WTCR outing to prepare their TCR Europe series campaigns, but with the aim of making an impression.
Once again all cars will be laden by 60 kilos of Compensation Weight and all drivers are eager to catch up with Gabriele Tarquini and his Hyundai that were the dominant force in Morocco.
