Kevin Giacon secures the title in the Coppa Italia Turismo

Kevin Giacon secured the title in the Coppa Italia Turismo beating his MM Motorsport teammates Davide Nardilli and Alessio Aiello by four and eight points respectively. The season finale at Vallelunga was not a weekend to remember for the three of them; Giacon staked a claim on the title by finishing second in Race 1 ahead of Nardilli, then their Honda cars collided in Race 2 and this played in favour of Giacon despite a penalty that dropped him out of the points. As for Aiello, he struggled to be on the pace throughout the weekend and scored only one point by finishing sixth in Race 2. Victories went to Andrea Argenti and Gabriele Giorgi.
Race 1 started behind the safety car under pouring rain. Argenti took the lead with a perfect getaway from P3 on the grid ahead of pole sitter Giacon and Nardilli. The three-way battle lived on throughout the whole race and eventually, Argenti crossed the finishing line only seven tenths before Giacon, with Nardilli in third position a further two tenths behind. Aiello finished ninth while Edoardo Barbolini (BF Motorsport, Audi RS 3 LMS) was delayed by a technical issue towards the end of the race and dropped out of the title fight.
In the second race that was also plagued by the rain Giacon and Nardilli had a tough fight for the title that culminated in a contact. As a result, Nardilli dropped to fifth, while Giacon received a 5-second penalty that demoted him to tenth. Giorgi won the race of Riccardo Romagnoli and Argenti.
