Lestrup Racing returns to TCR Scandinavia with two cars

Lestrup Racing has confirmed it will return to the TCR Scandinavia, fielding two Volkswagen Golf GTI cars for the 2020 season.
“One is a brand new car; it’s actually the very last Golf GTI TCR built from Volkswagen Motorsport, with chassis number 120,” said team owner Fredrik Letsrup. “I can’t unveil the names of the drivers yet, but I can say that one will be promising junior and the other a well established experienced racer.”

The team took part in the 2018 TCR Scandinavia with two Golf GTI cars for Oliver Söderström and Andreas Wernersson, with the latter capable of scoring one race win and being a title contender; he eventually was classified fourth in the Drivers’ standings. Last year Lestrup Racing focused on long distance races, competing in the 24H TCE Series.
“We performed well in 2018 and for us there are three clear goals for 2020, as we aim for claiming all three titles: Drivers’, Teams’ and Juniors’,” said Lestrup.
