Nuya wins TCR Thailand final and Davee grabs the title

28 October 2018

It was Chariya Nuya who concluded the TCR Thailand season with victory in Race 2 at Buriram’s Chang International Circuit. The Billionaire Boy Racing driver and his Honda Civic led from the start to the chequered flag, scoring their second win of the season.
The winner of yesterday’s Race 1, Jakraphan Davee was classified third in his Cupra run by the Alphafactory Racing Team by Pulzar and clinched the title.
Nuya made good use of his pole position and took the lead at the start, while Davee pipped Nattanid Lewattanavaragul to take second.
The Morin Racing Team’s lady driver did not give up and kept Pattarapol Vongprai at bay in the early part of the race, then began to close in on Davee. Halfway through the race, Lewattanavaragul began to put pressure on Davee and eventually managed to pass him on lap 11.
During the final moments, Lewattanavaragul was also able to reduce the gap from Nuya, but she couldn’t get close enough to try an overtaking move and settled for second.
Vattana Motorsport’s Vongprai, who was the only driver still in contention for the title, cruised in fourth position throughout the race as he never showed the pace to catch up with the front runners. He finished runner up in the standings, only one point ahead of Nuya.
