PWR Racing wins the appeal for Karlskoga races

18 September 2018

SBF, the Swedish Motorsport Authority, has upheld the appeal lodged by PWR Racing against the exclusion of their Cupra cars from TCR Scandinavia’s rounds 7 and 8 that took place at Karlskoga on August 19th.
Then, the cars of Daniel Haglöf, Philip Morin and Robert Dahlgren were excluded after finishing first, second and fourth in Race 1, while their teammate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulisnky suffered from the same penalty after crossing the finishing line first in Race 2.
The reason for their disqualifications was the use of an exhaust system that was not in compliance with the homologation paper.
However, following a clarification bulletin published by the TCR Technical Department and support from the manufacturer, the team successfully asserted that rules had been misinterpreted by the Race Director and the teams that had protested.
The verdict of the SBF has reshuffled the championship standings that are now led by Dahlgren with 167 points ahead of Johan Kristoffersson (160), Haglöf (146) and Andreas Wernersson (130).
55 points are still on offer Saturday at Mantorp Park in the TCR Scandinavia finale.
