RACB’s TCR selection reaches the final stage

03 November 2015

The contest launched by the RACB National Team to select two young new talents who will drive a SEAT León car in next year’s TCR Benelux Series, is getting near to the final stage.
The initiative had an overwhelming success, with no less than 565 applicants, of which 32 were selected for the semi-finals, which took place last weekend and included physical tests, motivation interviews and a competition on simulator. The jury was composed of former drivers Marc Duez (who also serves as TCR International Series Race Director) and Bas Leinders, and Geoffroy Theunis from the RACB.
Eight candidates emerged from the semi-finals and will now contest the final, which will take place on 11-12 November at the Jules Tacheny track in Mettet, and will see the young drivers go through timed tests at the wheel of a SEAT León racing car. Eventually, the two best will share next year the wheel of the RACB-sponsored SEAT León in the TCR Benelux Series. The eight finalists are: Laurens Beerten (20 years old), Sam Dejonghe (24), Mathieu Detry (18), Denis Dupont (22), Régis Gosselin (22), Samuel Lay (19), Guillaume Mondron (22) and Kenny Verdaasdonck (20).
