TCR Eastern Europe kicks off at Oschersleben

04 April 2023

For the first time TCR Eastern Europe visits Germany, as the new season kicks off at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben with an impressive field of 21 cars.

Actually, 24 competitors entered for the whole season, although three of them will join from the second event at the Hungaroring.

Amongst those who committed to the championship are drivers coming from other series such as TCR Europe’s race winner Mat’o Homola in a Janík Motorsport Hyundai Elantra N, Baltic Touring Car champion Ivars Vallers from Latvia in a new Audi RS 3 LMS run by LV Racing and René Kircher a regular in TCR Germany who drives a Honda Civic Type R for the newly-formed Mertel Racing. His teammate Davit Kajaia has previously competed in TCR International and WTCR, and now returns to international racing after a few years.

Other drivers to watch are Petr Čížek and Carol Wittke, both at the wheel of CUPRA Leon Competición cars for Expres Auto Racing and Fullinrace Academy respectively, and Sebastian Steibel in an Aditis Racing-run Audi RS 3 LMS II.

After offering some impressive performance in 2022, culminated with Milenko Vuković’s victory at the Red Bull Ring, Vuković Motorsport returns with its Renault Mégane RS cars and the plan to expand to four entries, adding Sanel Ćehić and Franjo Kovač to Milenko and Milan Vuković.
