TCR Europe champion Franco Girolami joins WTCR

2022 TCR Europe Champion Franco Girolami and his teammate Viktor Davidovski will make their maiden WTCR appearances in the pair of season’s last events at Sakhir and Jeddah.

Girolami and Davidovski will be at the wheel of their Comtoyou Racing Audi RS 3 LMS cars, joining the Belgian team’s WTCR regulars Gilles Magnus, Mehdi Bennani, Tom Coronel and Nathanaël Berthon. Sweden-based Lestrup Racing Team will support Comtoyou in expanding from a four to a six-car line-up.

Girolami said: “This is an amazing opportunity after the incredible year we have had winning the TCR Europe. It will be a big challenge, but I feel ready to make the most of this chance.”

Davidovski echoed: “These races will be a very big challenge, but I have been spending time working with Franco on the simulator and training every day, putting in a lot of effort to do my best. To compete in a world-level event like WTCR has always been an ambition, it’s lke a dream coming true.”
