TCR Italy returns to Imola for Rounds 9 and 10

26 July 2018

TCR Italy returns to Imola's Circuito Enzo e Dino Ferrari that hosted the opening event of the season at the end of April.
On that occasion, Luigi Ferrara and his V-Action Racing Alfa Romeo Giulietta won both races, but he now has slipped down to second in the standings, 8.5 points behind Salvatore Tavano.
In the previous race meeting at Mugello, Ferrara lost a possible victory in Race 1 because of a brake failure and did not score in Race 2, while Tavano won the first race and finished third in the second at the wheel of his Cupra run by the SEAT Motorsport Italia team.
Tavano's teammate Matteo Greco is currently lying third with a gap of 17 points; he is followed by the 2017 champion Nicola Baldan (Pit Lane Competizioni Hyundai i30 N) who claimed a couple of second places at Mugello and is a futher five points adrift.
After winning the second race at Mugello with Edoardo Cappello, Otto Motorsport will field a second Alfa Romeo Giulietta for Adriano Bernazzani.
The event at Imola will mark the return of Daniele Cappellari whit his Volkswagen Golf GTI and the maiden appearance in the series for Mauro Guastamacchia (MM Motorsport Honda Civic FK2) and Romy Dall’Antonia (SEAT León DSG).
