TCR South America’s Sporting Regulations were unveiled

The TCR South America championship has unveiled the Sporting Regulations for its inaugural season.
The calendar will include eight events, six featuring two Sprint races of 55 and 65 kms respectively with standing start, and two featuring one Endurance race of 160 kms with rolling start.
Points will be awarded to the top-five drivers in Qualifying (from 5 to 1) and the top-15 in each race: 25, 20, 16, 13, 11 and down to 1 in the Sprint races; 50, 40, 32, 26 22, 20 and down to 1 in the Endurance races.
The Qualifying for the Sprint races will be split in Q1 (20 min for all drivers), Q2 (10 min for the top-12 in Q1) and Q3 (one lap for each of the top-five in Q2). The grid for Race 1 will be determined by the Qualifying results (Q1+Q2+Q3), while the top-10 in Qualifying will be reversed on the grid for Race 2.
The Qualifying for the Endurance races will be split in two parts of 15 min each, one for driver A and one for driver B. The sum of the fastest laps set by the two drivers will determine the grid for the race.
The number of tyres is limited to 16 slicks in the Sprint events, with a maximum of 10 new tyres in the events following the first participation; the number of rain tyres is limited to 12 per event. In the Endurance events the number of tyres is limited to 14, dry or wet.
Other restrictions concern the engines (one) and turbos (three) for the whole season.
