The CTCC season comes to an end at Calabogie

27 August 2020

The 2020 Canadian Touring Car Championship comes to an end at Calabogie Motorsports Park. It has been a short season, because of the COVID-19 restrictions, with only three events in five weeks.
After winning three from the four races held so far at the wheel of his Audi RS 3 LMS, Pfaff Motorsports’ 17-year old rookie Zachary Vanier is set to secure the title, although the point scoring system leaves the door opened for other drivers. However, Vanier has always shown a superior pace compared to the rest of the field, and so only a technical issue or an incident would prevent him from being crowned champion, succeeding to Gary Kwok (M&S Rading, Honda Civic Type R).
The latter is currently involved in a close fight with Marco Cirone (TWOth Autosport, Audi) for the runner-up spot; Kwok has a gap of six points to recover.
The event marks the return of Fareed Ali in the second Audi run by TWOth Autosport and the debut of Louis-Philippe Montour in a Volkswagen Golf GTI entered by GT Racing.
