The Hyundai Veloster gets engine power penalty

24 July 2020

With immediate application, the WSC Group’s technical department has issued a new Balance of Performance bulletin.
The domination of the Hyundai Veloster N cars in North America has resulted in an engine power penalty.
Following the results achieved by the Korean cars in the TCR class of TC America and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, their engine power level has been reduced from 100% to 95%.
In TC America, Copeland Motorsports’ Tyler Maxson has won all the five races held so far, while in the latest IMSA event at Sebring, the Hyundai cars have filled the top-five positions in Qualifying and the top-three in the race.
Technical Bulletins are available HERE.
