Volkswagen teams finish 1-2-3 in the NEZ6H Series

Volkswagen teams’ perfect weekend at the Botniaring had started on Saturday with a 1-2-3 finish in the TCR class of the NEZ6H series’ second round.
And yet, the Qualifying session saw the Dream2Drive PRO’s CUPRA – the winner of the season’s opener at Bikernieki – snatching pole position. However, brake issues hit the CUPRA from the beginning of the race until the car crashed after four hours and 25 minutes while in second place.
Two of the four Golf GTI cars suffered from technical issues as well. The Skuba Racing Team’s spent time in the garage to fix a gearbox problem, while the GSR Motorsport’s crashed with a broken wheel hub and lost several laps for repairs.
Eventually the Noker Racing’s car shared by Kęstutis Stasionis and Marius Slaboševičius took the lead for good and finished third overall behind two GT Cars. Egidijus Valeiša and Džiugas Tovilavičius finished second for Skuba Racing Team, two laps behind, while the podium was completed by the Energizer Racing team of Rolandas Salys, Rokas Kvedaras and Rimvydas Savickas, one further lap adrift.
